CMI Project Management Qualifications
We offer both of the CMI standalone qualifications in Project Management. Both qualifications are vocational which means you will learn the models and background knowledge and also real-world tools and techniques that you will use to be effective in your current or future roles.
CMI Level 3 Award in Project Management – this is made up of one unit:
Unit PM3001 Introduction to Project Management
The CMI Level 3 Award in Project Management is a standalone course that covers the full project management lifecycle and explores a range of practical project management tools and techniques and how these would be applied to a real-world work project. Level 3 is ideal if you are new to project management or have some limited experience. Sometimes, the fundamentals is all you’ll need to improve your confidence and skills in managing small projects at work.
CMI Level 5 Certificate in Project Management – This is made up of two units:
Unit 513 Managing Projects to Achieve Results
Unit 524 Conducting a Management Project
The CMI Level 5 Certificate in Project Management is a popular course leading to an internationally recognised professional project management qualification. It is a standalone course that covers two distinct aspects of project management. It is made up of two parts, with a written assignment for each.
Unit 513 covers the project management lifecycle and explores a range of practical project management tools and techniques and how these would be applied to a real-world work project. This is very similar in content and structure to the Level 3 course outlined above, with slightly more detailed written responses required.
Unit 524 explores how to conduct management research projects enabling you to analyse and appraise project options. Then you’ll make recommendations based on your findings to present to your senior management.
Entry Requirements
As a level 3 course, typically, we expect you to be able to study and write at the equivalent to A’level. For level 5 courses, we expect you to be able to study and write at undergraduate level. If you have a degree or have studied and achieved other professional qualifications (CIPD, APM etc) at level 5 or above then we’re happy to support you to achieve the CMI Level 5 Certificate in Project Management. Timings and Durations
We offer complete flexibility, so you can start and finish your studies with us at any day you like. And you can take a break when other priorities matter more. As a guide, if you can commit a half-day per week to study then you can expect to complete each CMI unit in approximately twelve weeks. The level 3 would take ~12 weeks and the Level 5 ~24 weeks. Please note, it is possible to complete the course in a much shorter time period if you have more time available.
The CMI allow you one year to complete the Level 3 Award or three years to complete the Level 5 Certificate. If you study with us, you can take all of that time, there’s no rush.
